Original insurance policy from the Fire Association of Philadelphia is approx. 16 ¼” x 10”. Dated April 24, 1828 and made out to Rudolph Plattner (signature on back looks to be Blattner) for two brick houses in an alley north from Poplar lane between Old York Road and 4

St in Philadelphia’s Old City area. Poplar Lane became Poplar Street in 1873. Old York Road began in the area of modern 4
th
and Vine. Front has printed policy and wax seal in lower left, reverse has docketing information and other signatures from a policy transfer in 1881 and a cancellation in 1919. Printed on a quality stock, very clean with minor edge wear, displays very well.
